Update i-doit to the most recent version

  1. Make a BACKUP of your files and databases - you never know what could happen!
  2. Get the update files from http://i-doit.org and extract the zip file into your i-doit directory
  3. Go to 'http://<your i-doit URL>/updates' - if your i-doit server is connected to the internet, you can skip step 2 and click "Check now" at "Available Updates".
  4. Choose to which version you want to update. (Always update to the "next" higher version)
  5. If you see that your version is the same version as the one you are about to apply you could skip the update.
If you loose files or the system gets corrupted for some reason you can also do the update again to repair it.
  6. After clicking 'Next' you should choose which database(s) should be updated. You don't need to update them again if you have already done so.
Be aware that once you have updated the i-doit source, the database(s) should also be updated, because it is most likely that the old databases don't work with the new files.
  7. Finally you can choose whether you want to update your files or leave them untouched. We recommend always updating your files.
  8. See first point and check that you have understood it, then relax and do the update.

To check if there is any progress for your favourite software see http://www.i-doit.org

Note:

For an update from Version 0.9.2 and below, you need to manually delete your i-doit/temp/* directories after the update or just call the following URL: http://yourserver/idoit/?IDOIT_DELETE_TEMP
